- Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the post of driver in IGIB.
- The minimum age of the applicant should be at least 18 years old while the maximum age not be more than 27 years old. The age relaxation will be provided according to the government norms from 3 years to maximum 10 years to reserve categories.
- The candidate should complete 10th class from any recognise board to eligible for the post of driver.
- It is important to have at least 3 year experience in the driving field.
- The candidate should have knowledge of basic motor mechanism used in the vehicles and should able to repair minor deficiency in the vehicle.
- Among 3 vacancies, one vacancy is reserved for ex serviceman.

Selection Procedure for CSIR IGIB Recruitment 2025 for the Post of Driver
The department will conduct 3 phases of the recruitment including the skill test in first phase, the written examination in second phase and the document verification in third phase.
- In the first phase, candidates have to appear in the driving test and other physical activities related to the driving profession. The test will be only in qualifying nature where candidates have to only pass the test, and their marks will not be added in the merit list.
- Written examination: the second stage will include the descriptive written test where authority will conduct OMR based objective answer type questions for 100 questions where general intelligence, quantitative aptitude, general awareness and general English will be evaluated for 25 questions each.
The difficulty level of the examination will be 10th class based where candidate will get 3 mark for every correct answer and will also be penalized by 1 mark for wrong answers. So how much you achieve in the written examination will impact on your selection
