What is the Duration of the Express Entry Draw 2025?

Express Entry Profiles are suitable for 12 months. The Canadian Government strives to process candidates with permanent residents (PRs) within 6 months if they receive an ITA within this time. From the moment a completed application is submitted until a final decision is reached, processing time is determined. If an applicant still meets the requirements and does not get an ITA within the designated year, they may submit their profile again.

Compared to alternative routes to Canadian permanent residence, such basic PNP streams or other regional immigration programs, Express Entry processing periods are typically much faster. This is because a foreign national cannot be granted permanent resident status until the IRCC has approved and finalized the decision, which can result in a significant increase in wait times, even after a candidate has been accepted by a province or territory in accordance with its PR selection standards.
